Course Outline

I: Catalog Course Description

Introduces black and white photography and the 35mm camera. The course is designed as a beginning or refresher class in understanding photo taking and darkroom procedures. Student must provide a 35mm camera.

II: Course Objectives

• To learn the basic techniques of black and white photography.
• To learn darkroom skills for developing, enhancing and manipulating photographic images.
• To develop an understanding of aesthetic composition and design principles as related to the field of photography.
• To encourage an environment of experimentation and imagination.
