I : Catalog Course Description
Covers selected topics and directed student research of interest to students in astronomy.
II : Course Objectives

Covers selected topics and directed student research of interest to students in astronomy.

  • Upon completion of the course, the successful student will have:
  • 1) Gained extended knowledge astronomy with emphasis on applications in the specific area of interest. As an example a student could apply new knowledge of optical filtering to enhance H II regions in color images.
  • 2) Developed basic skills to build a reflecting optical telescope.
  • 3) Conducted an investigation in basic radio astronomy and measured electrical disturbances originating on Jupiter or other related investigations of interest.
