I : Catalog Course Description
Introduces the plants, animals and microorganisms of the oceans with an emphasis on important marine ecosystems such as intertidal zones, estuaries, and coral reefs.
II : Course Objectives
  • Gained factual knowledge (terminology, classifications, methods, trends) about life in the oceans.
  • Learned fundamental principles, generalizations, or theories of life in the oceans.
  • Learned to apply course material (to improve thinking, problem-solving, and decisions) in life in the oceans.
  • Developed specific skills, competencies and points of view needed by professionals in the field most closely related to life in the oceans.
  • Acquired an interest in learning more by asking questions and seeking answers about life in the oceans.

General Education Mission: BIOL 113 is a general education class that promotes the development of knowledge, skills, and attitudes that will benefit students in their personal and professional endeavors.
