Programs of Study This course can be found in the following programs of study:
I : Catalog Course Description
Emphasizes the distribution, form, structure and physiology of microorganisms in laboratory. Develops the student's skills in aseptic procedures, isolation and identification. Recommended for all allied health majors. Three hours lecture/three hours laboratory per week.
II : Course Objectives
  1. Gained factual knowledge (terminology, classifications, methods, trends) about General Microbiology.
  2. Learned fundamental principles, generalizations, or theories of General Microbiology.
  3. Learned to apply course material (to improve thinking, problem-solving, and decisions) in General Microbiology.
  4. Developed specific skills, competencies and points of view needed by professionals in the field most closely related to General Microbiology.
  5. Acquired an interest in learning more by asking questions and seeking answers about General Microbiology.

General Education Mission: BIOL 251 is a general education class that promotes the development of knowledge, skills, and attitudes that will benefit students in their personal and professional endeavors.
