I : Catalog Course Description
Introduces students to the importance of decision making and conflict resolution in the workplace. Focuses on evaluation and development of decision making procedures, conflict resolution techniques and stress reduction strategies for career success.
II : Course Objectives
  1. Identify various problem-solving approaches.
  2. Identify the steps in the problem-solving process.
  3. Identify critical thinking strategies and decision making techniques in the work setting.
  4. Recognize the importance of utilizing a problem-solving process in the work environment.
  5. Recognize the importance of negotiation, behaviors, and positive assertiveness in resolving conflict in the workplace.
  6. Develop the strategies for conflict resolution in the workplace.
  7. Recognize how stress impacts the workplace environment.
  8. Develop strategies to counteract workplace stress.
III : Course Linkage
Linkage of course to educational program mission and at least one educational program outcome.

This class meets a requirement of the following: Customer Service Certificate of Achievement and Customer Service Certificate of Completion.

BUS 119B (Workplace Decision Making & Conflict Resolution) addresses Student Learning Outcomes:
