Course Outline

I: Catalog Course Description

Provides students with the information and computing exercises to perform the skills necessary to successfully create and edit database tables, forms, queries, and reports. Format is mostly "hands-on" computing exercises and lecture. Perfect for those who are new to database management programs.
Note: Non-transferable for a NSHE baccalaureate degree. Non-applicable towards an AA or AS Degree.

II: Course Objectives

Learn the fundamentals of creating, editing, and printing from a Data Base Management system.

  • • Introduce concepts of Database Management
  • • Identify the elements of access windows
  • • Demonstrate creating a database
  • • Demonstrate creating a table
  • • Demonstrate changing the way the database looks
  • • Demonstrate entering, editing and deleting records
  • • Demonstrate creating a Query
  • • Demonstrate creating report
  • • Demonstrate running a Report from a Query
