Course Outline

I: Catalog Course Description

Presents information and computing exercises to provide students with the skills necessary to successfully create, edit, and present professional-looking "slide shows". Format is mostly "hands-on" computing exercises and lecture. Perfect for those who are new to presentation programs.
Note: Non-transferable for a NSHE baccalaureate degree. Non-applicable towards an AA or AS Degree.

II: Course Objectives

This class introduces students to Microsoft PowerPoint. Students will learn basic slide creation, slice development, options for printing slides, and how to set up stories, and headers and footers, and create a table of contests.

  • • Understand and use AutoContent Wizard, Template, and Blank presentations
  • • Understand the Control Panel, Menu Bar, Standard toolbar
  • • Understand the Components of a PowerPoint Presentation
  • • Creating a presentation Using a Wizard
  • • Enhancing a presentation with graphic
  • • Create slides, Overheads, Speaker Notes, and Handouts.
