Course Outline

I: Catalog Course Description

Stresses blueprint reading skills. Introduces residential working drawing concepts leading to a full set of professional level working drawings.
Note: Non-transferable for a NSHE baccalaureate degree. Non-applicable towards an AA or AS Degree.

II: Course Objectives

Demonstrate an ability to produce a residential floor plan.

Demonstrate an ability to produce a plot plan.

Demonstrate an ability to produce a residential foundation plan.

Demonstrate an ability to produce elevation drawings.

Demonstrate an ability to produce schedules.

Demonstrate an ability to produce section drawings and details.

Demonstrate an ability to interpret and draw an electrical plan.

The mission of the of Applied Science degree in Drafting Technology is to provide employment-related knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in the current drafting environment.

This course addresses the following AAS degree student learning outcomes:

a. acquire skills and perform tasks necessary for employment or career enhancement.
