I : Catalog Course Description
Provides an introduction to Greek, Roman and Judeo-Christian culture through the Middle Ages.
II : Course Objectives
  1. Display a mastery of factual and conceptual knowledge of the major cultural periods of the European world from the beginnings of civilization in the riverine civilizations to the Greco-Roman and Medieval periods.
  2. Develop an appreciation of cultural diversity through an examination of cultural interaction and change in Europe
  3. Examine culture change through a study of primary sources reflecting the literary, political, and intellectual achievements of European society.
  4. Engage in critical thinking through analysis of literature and other historical/cultural documents.
III : Course Linkage

Communication: Demonstrate college level reading and writing skills and effective oral communications skills.

Analysis: Demonstrate knowledge of appropriate critical thinking skills.
