Provides an integrated overview of the elements of substantive criminal law and the fundamental concepts of due process and fairness underlying American criminal procedures.
II : Course Objectives
  • Discuss the adversary system of justice
  • Describe the steps in a criminal prosecution
  • Assess plea bargaining
  • Discuss constitutional considerations
  • Appraise the litigation process
  • Define Criminal Law
  • Discuss the Nevada Revised Statutes
  • Discuss the responsibility of advocates
  • Discuss venue
  • Assess the responsibility of police officers in terms of their impact on criminal law and procedure
