Course Outline
I: Catalog Course Description
Teaches beginning techniques of hip-hop dance. May be repeated for up to four units.
Note: Non-transferable for an NSHE baccalaureate degree. Non-applicable towards an AA or AS Degree.
II: Course Objectives
By the completion of the class, the students should, with 75% accuracy:
- Know objectives and techniques of warming up.
- Use basic terminology.
- Perform simple dance combinations with proper body positioning.
- Be able to choreograph short dance routines using the hip hop idiom.
III: Course Linkage
Linkage of course to educational program mission and at least one educational program outcome.
Students should:
1. Understand the importance of cultural traditions, diversity, and ethics in the modern world.
2. Have an understanding of fine arts or performing arts.
