| Studies principles and practices in supervision and management of preschool and child care centers, including program planning, organization, budgeting, personnel records, relationships with community resources, regulatory agencies and working with parents. |
| II : Course Objectives |
Upon completion of this course, student will be able to:
• Describe the roles and responsibilities of a director.
• Describe the characteristics of various types of schools and programs.
• Discuss requirements and factors affecting the opening of a new school.
• Plan program and curriculum, including goals and objectives.
• Supervise program and evaluate outcomes.
• Select, supervise, and evaluate staff.
• Develop a budget for a school or center.
• Plan and maintain the physical environment for a school.
• Identify ways to promote volunteer and parent involvement.
• List professional organizations for teachers of young children and the publications of those organizations. |
