2. Describe social, historical and philosophical factors that influence curriculum in elementary schools.
3. Demonstrate an awareness of the developmental needs of elementary age children.
4. Identify ways in which subject matter curriculum is practiced in contemporary elementary schools.
5. Display a love of learning by participating in class activities; pursuing personal interests in curriculum studies through lesson plans; giving thoughtful attention to assignments; and going beyond minimum requirements for this course.
6. Exhibit the manner in which they value democracy and pluralism by the nature of personal comments made during class activities; and personal stands taken in written class assignments/portfolio.
