Introduces the prospective middle/secondary school teacher to the role of thinker/reflective practitioner. Creates awareness of the historical, social, political and economic forces influencing schooling in the United States.
EDU 202 provides secondary education majors opportunities to think about the nature of high school within a pluralistic, capitalistic democracy. The course provides field experience with secondary students, especially in a non-traditional or multicultural setting. Students will reflect on their own educational experiences to understand how those experiences will influence their teaching. Students will rehearse being reflective practitioners.

Students who complete this course are expected to demonstrate they:
