| Covers telecommunications principles including both voice and data communications. An examination of the communications industry and its regulatory environment will be provided. Topics include switching and signaling, voiceband communications, digital transmission, and emerging technologies. |
| II : Course Objectives |
Enable student to acquire foundational knowledge in the area of telecommunications concepts and technologies.
Provide student with exposure to industry terminology and the basic operation of equipment. |

This course is a core requirement for an Associate of Applied Science degree in Information Technology with an emphasis in Convergence Technology.
The mission of the A.A.S. degree is to provide employment-related knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in a chosen field of study.
