I : Catalog Course Description
Helps students understand the theoretical concepts and analytical foundations necessary for further study in the field. It will provide an overall picture of securities markets, institutions, processes and mechanisms on how stocks and bonds are bought and sold.
II : Course Objectives

This course helps students understand the theoretical concepts and analytical foundations necessary for further study in the field. It will provide an overall picture of securities markets, institutions, processes and mechanisms on how stocks and bonds are bought and sold.

  1. Introduce the student to the basics of Investments
  2. After the student completes the course, the student should be able to define and use the Concepts:

    4. Futures Contracts
    5. Corporate Bonds
    6. Government Bonds
    7. Mortgage
    8. Backed Securities
    9. Buying and Selling Securities
    10. Security Types
    11. Stock Market
    12. Common Stocks
    13. Earnings and Cash Flow
    14. Interest Rates
    15. Bond Prices and Yield
    16. Asset Allocation
