2008-2009 | I : Catalog Course Description |
| Teaches color theories, color technologies and the application of color in art and design. Intermediate two-dimensional design problems focusing on the compositional, optical and psychological aspects of visual communications. |
| II : Course Objectives |
Upon completion of this course, the student will acquire an understanding of the following:
- How color relates to the basic principles and elements of design.
- An awareness and practical experience of the use of color and color theories, with emphasis on solving specific visual problems.
- The various types of compositions, and how color can be applied to compositions in solving visual problems.
- The various color theories, models and technologies available.
- An expanded use of the design process in the development of ideas from concept to completion.
- The application of finished concepts into the electronic environment when required.
- Exposure to and an expansion of the use and function of various media and techniques.
- Expansion of the visual language and awareness of color all around us.
- The value of critiques and the ability to work within the critique process, both individually and in group situations.
- The use of the tools, supplies and techniques necessary to execute and present work in a professional manner.
- Continue working on computer skills for digital photography and scanning.
- Study contemporary work being done in digital photography.
