Course Outline

I: Catalog Course Description

Offers a foundation that introduces computer systems and applications as they relate to graphic communications for digital media. Class will present a project-based overview of content creation, web design and web animation.

II: Course Objectives

Upon completion of the course, students will acquire an understanding of the following:

  • Know the history and development of digital media.
  • Survey today's graphic design careers in digital media.
  • Have a basic undersanding of the industry standard tools for creating and delivering content for digital media.
  • Understand digital media planning, design and production techniques.
  • Be able to give form to concepts with a variety of software applications.
  • Have skills for combining research and critical thinking to spark your creativity.
