| Continuation of GRC 144B with an emphasis on advanced electronic layout and typography procedures. |
| II : Course Objectives |
Upon completion of the course, students will acquire an understanding of the following:
- Type history
- Type anatomy
- Type identification and classification
- Font families, sizing and styles
- Selection of appropriate type faces based on project requirements
- Manuscript preparation and typesetting conventions (quote marks, spacing, punctuation, tabulation).
- Page layout and design
- Proofreading
- Printing (preparation for outside service bureaus, print shops, etc.)
