Course Outline

I: Catalog Course Description

Offers advanced web page design using industry-standard applications. Topics include CCS layout, advanced site building features, site management, interactivity, and customization.

Note: Non-transferable for an NSHE baccalaureate degree. Non-applicable towards an AA or AS Degree.

II: Course Objectives

Upon course completion, the student will acquire and understanding of:

  • Have an advanced understanding of the use of design, color and typography in Web design and execution.
  • Be able to work with interactivity and animation at an advanced level when developing web pages and web sites.
  • Develop web hosting and site management concepts at a more advanced level.
  • Apply learned concepts in Adobe Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks and Photoshop as well as other web authoring software applications by creating assigned web sites.
  • Using CSS for layout and positioning.

The Associate of Applied Science degree in Graphic Communications will provide employment-related knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in the graphic communications field. The degree will meet educational criteria for employment and prepare the student for possible transfer to other colleges and universities to meet higher educational and professional goals.
