Prerequisites minimum of 21 credits of GRC design/production classes or consent of instructor

It may not transfer or apply to programs at four-year universities within Nevada (UNR, UNLV). I : Catalog Course Description
Develop of a portfolio for employment in the graphics communications field. Professional and legal requirements will be explored.
II : Course Objectives

GRC 294B is the exit class for the Graphic Communications degree. Students will develop a portfolio for seeking an entry-level job in the graphic communications industry. Upon course completion, the student will acquire an understanding of:

  1. Portfolio requirements for the industry
  2. How to create and produce a professional portfolio
  3. Resume requirements
  4. How to create and produce a professional resume
  5. Job search techniques, including cover letters, cold calls and post-interview requirements
  6. Job interview techniques
III : Course Linkage
Linkage of course to educational program mission and at least one educational program outcome.

Students should:
1. Have problem solving, creative, and critical thinking skills.
2. Have effective and efficient learning skills, including the location and evaluation of information.
3. Have appropriate technological skills, including computer skills.
4. Understand the importance of cultural traditions, diversity, and ethics in the modern world.
