| Surveys the role of newspapers, radio, television, advertising and public relations organizations. Offers interpretation of the day's news and analysis of media performance. |

Upon completion of this course, student should be able to:
- Critically study the flow of news and information
- Explore how media influences us and our society
- Better understand how the various media operate and why they are important to our academic and career goals and our daily lives
- Become better media consumers
- Anticipate how our media might appear in the 21st century
- Determine what use each of us might make of the media
