I : Catalog Course Description
Surveys the role of newspapers, radio, television, advertising and public relations organizations. Offers interpretation of the day's news and analysis of media performance.
II : Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, student should be able to:

  • Critically study the flow of news and information
  • Explore how media influences us and our society
  • Better understand how the various media operate and why they are important to our academic and career goals and our daily lives
  • Become better media consumers
  • Anticipate how our media might appear in the 21st century
  • Determine what use each of us might make of the media
