Prerequisites LAW 101 or consent of the program coordinator

Covers a variety of legal subjects.
II : Course Objectives
  • Gain factual knowledge about a current trend in the law;
  • Students will enhance their communication skills through participation in class discussions;
  • Students will improve their critical thinking skills analyzing current legal topics.
III : Course Linkage
Linkage of course to educational program mission and at least one educational program outcome.

Special Topics in the Law is an elective course in the Paralegal Program.

The AAS Mission is to provide the academic knowledge and skill training necessary for employment as a paralegal.

This course addresses the following two AAS degree student learning outcomes:

Students are expected to demonstrate that they -

1. know the subject matter presented;

2. appreciate the responsibility of members of the legal profession to society.
