| Discusses the basic elements of contract law including offer, acceptance, consideration, contractual capacity, legality, defenses to enforcement of contracts, remedies and an introduction to the Uniform Commercial Code. |

- Gain factual knowledge about contract law;
- Students will enhance their communication skills through participation in class discussions, oral presentations, and written projects;
- Students will improve their critical thinking skills through basic legal analysis of case law and statutes.

Contracts is a required course in the Paralegal Program.
The AAS Mission is to provide the academic knowledge and skill training necessary for employment as a paralegal.
This course addresses the following four AAS degree student learning outcomes:
Students are expected to demonstrate that they -
1. know the basic principles of contract law;
2.
a. analyze and interpret case law and statutes and regulations;
b. locate newly decided cases and recent trends in contract law;
3. appreciate the importance of ethics in contract law. |
