| Provides a basic knowledge of bankruptcy law, with emphasis on understanding the schedules, preparing proofs of claims and motion practice within the bankruptcy court. |
| II : Course Objectives |
- Gain factual knowledge about bankruptcy law and procedures;
- Students will enhance their communication skills through participation in class discussions, oral presentations, and written projects;
- Students will improve their critical thinking skills through basic legal analysis of the bankruptcy code.

Bankruptcy is an elective course for the AAS Paralegal/Law Program.
The AAS Mission is to provide the academic knowledge and skill training necessary for employment as a paralegal.
This course addresses the following five AAS degree student learning outcomes:
Students are expected to:
1. know the basic principles of bankruptcy law and procedure;
2.
a.analyze and interpret case law, statutes, and regulations;
b.locate newly enacted and amended bankruptcy regulations and recent trends in bankruptcy law;
3. appreciate the role of legal assistants in bankruptcy law, and the importance of ethics in bankruptcy law. |
