| Covers the relationship between the attorney, client and legal assistant. Discusses what a legal assistant may and may not do. Also discusses conflicts of interest, dealing with witnesses and adverse parties and confidentiality. |

- Gain factual knowledge legal ethics.
- Students will enhance their communication skills through participation in class discussions;

Ethics is a required course for the AAS Paralegal/Law Program.
The AAS Mission is to provide the academic knowledge and skill training necessary for employment as a paralegal.
This course addresses the following six AAS degree student learning outcomes:
Students are expected to:
1. know the basic principles of legal ethics;
2.
a. analyze and interpret ethics rules;
b. locate ethics rulings.
3. appreciate the importance of ethics in the legal profession; the importance of legal assistants in the legal system; and the responsibility of members of the legal profession to society. |
