Course Outline

I: Catalog Course Description

Provides a review of algebra that will refresh previously taught concepts. Course will help prepare students for the math placement test.

II: Course Objectives

This class is designed to provide a review of algebra that will enable students to remember concepts taught previously so students will not spend so much academic time in remediation.

  • Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to work with the following:
  • 1.demonstrate order of operations
  • 2.solve linear equations
  • 3.solve linear inequalities
  • 4.graph linear functions and inequalities
  • 5.solve quadratic equations by factoring
  • 6.evaluate functions
  • 7.graph quadratic functions
  • 8.solve systems of linear equations and inequalities
  • 9.applied problems
