Covers the concepts of quality planning, quality control and quality improvement.
- Reviews basic TQM concepts of leadership, customer satisfaction, employee involvement, continuous process improvement, and performance measures result in a continual and simultaneous improvement of both quality and productivity.
- Discusses the tools and techniques of TQM such as benchmarking, information technology, quality management systems, environmental management systems, quality by design, products liability, management tools, statistical process control, and experimental design.
- Reviews basic principles of quality control using probability and statistical techniques.
- Provides insights into data collection techniques and properly interpret results.
- Introduces tools for creativity, planning, process analysis, and problem solving.
- Discusses the approach and process using data to improve quality performance.
- Defines corporate social responsibility and how this impacts total quality management.
- Discusses how customer feedback and loyalty enhance total quality management.
- Stresses importance of implementing leadership practices that support TQM findings.
- Addresses methods of using TQM to transform employees into an empowered workforce.
