Expands skills introduced in MTT 105 to an intermediate level and introduces further skills which include vertical mill, drill sharpening, speed feeds and some production methods.
Note: Non-transferable for an NSHE baccalaureate degree. Non-applicable towards an AA or AS Degree.
After successful completion of this course, the student will have the basic skills to check, setup, and operate a vertical milling machine, using, proper cutting tools, speeds and feeds for various types of material. Setup and operate a surface grinder, select and check, for a proper wheel.
Linkage of course to educational program mission and at least one educational program outcome.
This course may be chosen to fulfill a Degree Requirement for the Machine Tool Technology Associate of Applied Science Degree and Certificate of Achievement.
The mission of the Associate of Applied science Degree and Certificate of Achievement is to provide employment-related knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in a chosen field of study.
Upon completion of this course, students are expected:

B. perform various types of machining operations.
C. each student will progress along their personal goals, whether they are for personal interest of professional development.
