| Introduces the correct and pleasing use of the singing voice through a well balanced and coordinated study of vocal literature and exercises. Class may be repeated for a total of nine credits. Fee covers cost of 14 half-hour private lessons. |
| II : Course Objectives |

By the completion of the class, the students should, with 75% accuracy:
- Breathe correctly
- Sing using chest, mix, and head voice
- Pronounce consonants and vowels correctly
- Move through the passagio from chest to mix and mix to head
- Vary vibrato between operatic and musical theatre styles
- Use correct posture for singing
- Identify muscles used for support
