| Introduces study and performance of jazz ensemble literature. May be repeated for up to 4 credits. |
| II : Course Objectives |
By the completion of the class, the students should, with an accuracy of 75%:
- Play various jazz styles, including Dixieland, swing, be-bop, modern, progressive and fusion.
- Perform basic articulations and rhythms
- Improvise solos to basic jazz progressions, using basic harmonic theory
