I : Catalog Course Description
Studies basic problems in different areas of philosophy such as ethics, political theory, metaphysics, and epistemology.
II : Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:

  1. Understand the general areas in which philosophy is divided.
  2. Understand the ideas of the major philosophies from the classical era to the contemporary era.
  3. Compare and contrast the philosophies of different philosophers.
  4. Critically analyze the ideas of philosophers.
III : Course Linkage
Linkage of course to educational program mission and at least one educational program outcome.

Phil 101 satisfies the general education requirement for any degree or certificate and addresses the mission of and the following student learning outcomes of General Education.
