Course Outline

I: Catalog Course Description

Prepares students for careers in the real estate profession. Includes law of agency, listing agreements, encumbrances, legal descriptions, taxes, contracts and escrow. This course, along with RE 103, satisfies requirements of the Real Estate Division and Commission for taking the salesperson exam.

II: Course Objectives

This course prepares students for careers in the real estate profession. Includes an introduction to the law of agency, listing agreements, encumbrances, legal descriptions, taxes, contracts and escrow. This course, along with RE 103, satisfies requirements of the Real Estate Division and Commission for taking the salesperson exam.

  • The nature of real property.
  • Real estate brokerage and broker-salesman, client-customer relationships.
  • The various interests in real estate and how they affect ownership and use.
  • Forms of legal descriptions.
  • Liens affecting real estate.
  • Types of contracts used in transactions.
  • Methods of title transfers and legal documents of conveyance.

This class meets a requirement of the following: AAS- Real Estate Emphasis - Real Estate State License, Real Estate Broker License, and Real Estate Residential Appraiser Apprentice License.
