Course Outline

I: Catalog Course Description

Focuses on the requirements for ethical behavior and competent performance by appraisers set forth in the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice. Emphasizes the role of the appraiser and examines the implied impartiality often associated with this role. Explores how the special provisions of the Uniform Standards apply to situations that appraisers encounter in everyday practice. Twelve hours are devoted to the standards and three hours are devoted to Nevada state law (NRS 645C).

Note: Non-transferable for an NSHE baccalaureate degree. Non-applicable towards an AA or AS Degree.

II: Course Objectives

This course focuses on the requirements for ethical practices and competent performance by appraisers set forth in the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice, USPAP. It explores how the special provision of the Uniform Standards applies to situations that appraisers encounter in everyday practice. Twelve hours are devoted to the standards and three hours are devoted to Nevada state law, (NRS 645C).

RE 198B (Real Estate Appraisal Law & Ethics) addresses Student Learning Outcomes:
