Course Outline

I: Catalog Course Description

Builds on students' knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Access and Excel. This class will also include Microsoft Word's mail merge feature, Access tables, Outlook contacts, inserting an Excel spreadsheet into a Word document, and attaching Word or Excel files to an Access field.

Note: Non-transferable for an NSHE baccalaureate degree. Non-applicable towards an AA or AS Degree.

II: Course Objectives

Builds on students knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Access and Excel. This class will also include Microsoft Word's mail merge feature, Access tables, Outlook contacts, inserting an Excel spreadsheet into a Word document, and attaching Word or Excel files to an Access field.

  • • Design and format a variety of word documents incorporating styles, formatting options and graphics.
  • • Design worksheets using excel, format a worksheet using formulas, functions, and queries.
  • • Design a basic database and complete a form and report.
