I: Catalog Course Description

Offers hands-on course designed for the senior student who has a basic knowledge of personal computers and wishes to learn how to access the Internet and use software to explore the World Wide Web. Students will learn to use various search engines to find people through white pages, business and services through yellow page search services and information. The student will download files, use e-mail and transfer attachment.

Note: Non-transferable for an NSHE baccalaureate degree. Non-applicable towards an AA or AS Degree.

II: Course Objectives

Hands-on course is designed for the senior student who has a basic knowledge of personal computers and wishes to learn how to access the Internet and use browse software to explore the World Wide Web. The student will learn to use various search engines to find people through white pates, business and services through yellow page search services and information. The student will download files, use e-mail and transfer attachment.

  • • Have a basic understanding of the Internet, Web and Web Browser Software.
  • • Evaluate e-mail programs and web-based e-mail services.
  • • Search the Web and get information and resources using a variety of tools such as search engines, downloading, FTP and transfer and store data.
