II : Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:

  1. Have a basic understanding of the principles and theories of cultural sociology and anthropology applied to the concept of human diversity
  2. Have an appreciation of the value and importance of human diversity
  3. Exercise the following academic skills:
    1. reading, writing
    2. oral communication
    3. online and library research.
III : Course Linkage
Linkage of course to educational program mission and at least one educational program outcome.

Students will:

1. have college-level skills in reading, writing, and oral communication appropriate to their degree and/or emphasis.

2. have problem solving, creative, and critical thinking skills.

3. have effective and efficient learning skills, including the location and evaluation of information.

4. understand and apply social science principles, including an appreciation of participation in civic affairs.

5. understand the importance of cultural traditions, diversity, and ethics in the modern world.
