I : Catalog Course Description
Examines typical problems encountered in dating, courtship, marriage, and parenthood.
II : Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:

  1. Gain the factual sociological knowledge about the trends for the American family.
  2. Learn fundamental principles of causal factors for change, theories and generalizations.
  3. Apply course materials.
III : Course Linkage
Linkage of course to educational program mission and at least one educational program outcome.

Students will:

1. have college-level skills in reading, writing, and oral communication appropriate to their degree and/or emphasis.

2. have problem solving, creative, and critical thinking skills.

3. have effective and efficient learning skills, including the location and evaluation of information.

4. understand the importance of cultural traditions, diversity, and ethics in the modern world.
