Social Work

Social workers are concerned with social problems, their causes, their solutions and their human impacts. Social workers work with individuals, families, groups, organizations and communities, as members of a profession that is committed to social justice and human rights.

SW 220 Introduction to Social Work
    Credits: 3. Prerequisites: none
Introduces the profession of social work within a historical context. Emphasis on values, human diversity, analysis of social problem solving and fields of practice.
SW 230 Crisis Intervention
    Credits: 3. Prerequisites: none
Analyzes types of crisis theory, effects of crisis on the individual, family and community. Looks at methods and resources for crisis intervention.
