| Introduces the profession of social work within a historical context. Emphasis on values, human diversity, analysis of social problem solving and fields of practice. |
| II : Course Objectives |
- This course is designed to introduce students to the major concepts of social work careers and interventions with at risk populations.
- Students will gain the concept of professionalism within the field of social work.
- To develop an understanding of both social work methods and theories, as well as ethical concerns within the field of social work.
- Students will gain knowledge pertaining to social work and how to apply those principals to the human services professions.
