| Introduces major figures, events and ideas in theatre and dramatic literature from its origins to the present. Read, analyze and discuss representative plays. |
| II : Course Objectives |
By the completion of the class, students should, with 75% accuracy:
- Recognize types of drama and their conventions, as well as the styles of the most influential dramatists.
- Discuss basic elements of theater: audience, performers and performances.
- Use the language of drama: setting, costume, gestures, sound effects, dialogue, plot and structure, character and theme.
