Introduces major figures, events and ideas in theatre and dramatic literature from its origins to the present. Read, analyze and discuss representative plays.
By the completion of the class, students should, with 75% accuracy:
Linkage of course to educational program mission and at least one educational program outcome.
Students should:
1. Know the subject matter appropriate to the musical theater degree.
2. Write papers which demonstrate research, reading, and critical thinking skills.
3. Succeed at transfer institutions.
4. Understand the importance of cultural traditions, diversity, and ethics in the modern world.
5. Have an understanding of fine arts or performing arts.
