Course Outline

I: Catalog Course Description

Focuses on GMAW, GTAW, and FCAW which will train the student to perform production and certification performance welding on ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

Note: Non-transferable for an NSHE baccalaureate degree. Non-applicable towards an AA or AS Degree.

II: Course Objectives

GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SMAW- learners will practice and become ready to take the AWS qualifying exam in al positions.

This is a required course for the Welding Technology Associate of Applied Science degree and fulfills a course requirement in the Welding Technology Certificate of Achieve.

The mission of the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Welding Technology is to provide employment-related knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in a chosen field of study.

This course addresses the following AAS degree student learning outcomes in which the successful student will be able to demonstrate:
1. Knowledge of the subject matter appropriate to the Welding Technology.
