American Sign Language AM 215B: Conversational ASL
Focuses on the natural use of American Sign Language. Appropriate use of ASL grammar and vocabulary in conversational situations is stressed. Students master appropriate pragmatics, use of facial expressions, space, fingerspelling and classifiers, simultaneously for conversational fluency. All classes are full length semester courses (Fall 2008 is August 25–December 13) unless otherwise noted. NOTE: Classes with low registration numbers may result in the class being canceled. Students are encouraged to register and pay early to reduce the chance of class cancellation. NEW EARLIER PAY DATE: Payment is due for full-term fall 2008 classes by August 15, 2008.
