Winner of multiple Tony and Academy awards, this captivating and beloved musical is coming to Carson City for the first time! A British school teacher comes to Siam to educate the children of the King, a ruler intrigued by the West but entrenched in Eastern customs. Their unexpected and unlikely affection for each other overrides the vast cultural differences that separate them. The Western Nevada Musical Theatre Company is a regional theater company that operates in Carson City, Nevada through the performing arts program of Western Nevada College.
- The company produces three to five musicals each year, drawing thousands of spectators and patrons from all around California and Nevada.
- The company's popularity led to development of an Associate of Arts degree in Musical Theater, offering courses in acting, dance, stagecraft and private vocal instruction.
