| Fall 2007 Wildcats Earn National Academic Honors |
| March 26, 2008: Proving that they have intellectual abilities as well as physical skill, the Western Wildcats Women's Soccer Team was named a 2007 Fall Academic Team of the Year by the National Junior College Athletic Association. The team's combined grade point average of 3.36 (of 4.0) was the second highest GPA in the country. Only Oxford College of Emory University in Oxford, Ga. scored higher. Records were compiled by the National Junior College Athletics Association and a team picture of the Wildcats was included in JUCO Review magazine for March 2008. | Women's Soccer Team to be Deactivated |
| November 9, 2007: Western Nevada College has reluctantly made the decision to deactivate its successful intercollegiate women's soccer team due to a lack of conference teams in the sport. Changes in the Scenic West Athletic Conference have made it impossible for Western to offer its soccer student athletes a true soccer season, as the number of teams in the conference has shrunk to only two – Western Nevada and North Idaho College. The college is committed to offering an intercollegiate women's athletics program from among the existing core SWAC sports. Softball and volleyball are under consideration. More Information. |
| Four Wildcats Earn Berths on All-Region Team |
| November 2, 2007: Western Nevada College's soccer team is well represented on the 2007 Scenic West Athletic Conference All-Region Team. Alexia Balmaseda, Kim Duke, Meghan Olsen and two-year captain Meghan Olsen were selected to the team. Balmaseda also received an All-American nomination. More Information. |
