FAQ's

NetID

1: What is a NetID used for?

Your NetID is used as a universal login for all WNC systems that require authentication. Those systems are: Wireless access, Library equipment login, WestNet, Library database, and Webcampus.

2: My NetID password isn't working for Webcampus, why?

Your Webcampus password is the only password that will be different from the other systems. The first time you login to Webcampus you will use your student ID with an upper case W as the password to activate your account. You are then prompted to change your password and at that time you can choose whatever password you would like to use.

3: My NetID is not working for the wireless/public access, why?

Student - Contact WNC Help Desk at 445-4290 or Library Services at 445-3229 for a password change. If you are, or have been a student employee in the past and do not have a Lotus Notes account, please let the person assisting you know. If you have a Lotus Notes account you need to use that login information for authentication.

WNC Employee - Employees use Lotus Notes email information to authenticate for wireless/public access.

4: I forgot my NetID password, how do I get a new one?

Contact the WNC Help Desk at 445-4290, or Library Services at 445-3229. You will need to verify student account information before the password will be reset, so be prepared! NOTE: Password resets refresh in the system every hour on the hour, so if you change your password at 12:10, you will not be able to access most systems until 1:00. The exceptions are Webcampus and WestNet which you can access immediately after a password change.
