The "Dugout Club" is the fundraising arm of the Wildcats baseball and softball programs. To become a member of the WNC "Dugout Club" for either or both teams, download the membership form and mail it to Katie Leao @ 2201 W. College Pkwy Carson City, NV 89703.
Sponsorships are available from the $50 to $5,000 level. Membership includes a variety of benefits, based upon the level of sponsorship, and could include athletics season passes or Wildcats apparel.
Businesses may choose to sponsor a fence sign at John L. Harvey Field, home of the Wildcats baseball team. The highly successful team regularly draws crowds of 100 to 400 spectators to its games, and sponsorship signs offer an effective way to maintain top of mind awareness and support in the community.
The Western Nevada College Foundation has launched a campaign to build an intercollegiate softball field for the Wildcats softball team at the main campus in Carson City. Currently, the team utilizes a field at a Carson City park which is several miles from the campus. The distance from campus has resulted in less connection to the college community and logistical challenges in operating from an off-site location.
The intercollegiate softball field will be an NJCAA sanctioned facility with 200-225 permanent seats, dugouts, electric scoreboard, and press box. The outfield will be FieldTurf and the infield will be hilltopper, which will allow the field to be playable after rain.
This facility will increase attendance and support from the college and community, enhance recruiting capabilities for local high school graduates, deepen the sense of community and school pride by having the field on campus, allow for better game scheduling, and lessen the impact on valuable study time.
The Western Nevada College Wildcats Athletics Spartan 300 is a group of individuals, businesses, and organizations that believes the community college athletics experience is something worth fighting for.
Each member of the Spartan 300 has pledged to donate $100 per month for five years (total pledge $6,000) to ensure that Nevada male and female student-athletes continue to have the opportunity to excel on the playing field while they succeed in the classroom.
Each $100 monthly pledge is noted as a "shield" that helps ensure the success of Wildcats athletics. Donors can pledge as many "shields" as they wish. Only 300 shields will be sold. Monies will be used to benefit Western Nevada College baseball and softball programs.
Members of this elite group will have their names inscribed on a permanent "Shield of Honor" that will be displayed prominently at the WNC Carson City campus. Members of the Spartan 300 are also listed on the Wildcats Athletics Spartan 300 page.
