Military and Veteran Student Success Coordinator

Administrative Faculty Contract. Non Tenure Track, Benefits Eligible   The Military and Veteran Student Success Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for all military- and veteran-related benefits and academic advising at the college. This position provides comprehensive advising services to active-duty service members, veterans, dependents, and civilian employees, with specialized expertise in VA education benefits, DoD Tuition Assistance, National Guard waivers, MyCAA, and academic pathways. The position maintains critical oversight of Department of Defense and Fallon Naval Air Base MOUs, tracks and supports Tuition Assistance students.   Additionally, the position oversees the Veteran Resource Center One Stop in Carson, coordinates outreach and onboarding initiatives, supports VA work-study operations, and serves as a backup School Certifying Official. Decisions made in this role directly impact institutional compliance and the college’s ability to effectively serve military and veteran students.

Coordinator, Nursing Pathways Program

Under the direction and supervision of the Operations & Clinical Coordinator, the Nursing Pathways Program Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, coordinating, and continuously improving operational systems, processes, and activities that support Allied Health programs that provide a stackable entry to Nursing.   This position serves as a centralized coordination point for such programs and is responsible for facilitating communication, timelines, documentation, operational alignment, compliance processes, and program implementation activities among faculty, staff, students, clinical partners, and college departments.   The Nursing Pathways Program Coordinator manages complex operational and program development processes related to clinical education, curriculum implementation, workforce alignment, student progression, and regulatory compliance. The role exercises independent judgment in coordinating program operations, implementing systems and workflows, resolving operational issues, and supporting continuous improvement activities in alignment with division priorities.

Academic Advisor & Access Coordinator

The Academic Advisor & Access Coordinator serves as a member of the Academic Advising & Access team and provides holistic, student-centered advising that supports student access, persistence, completion, transfer, and career readiness. The position assists prospective, new, continuing, adult and returning, transfer, and dual enrollment students in navigating educational pathways, making informed decisions, and progressing toward their academic and career goals.    The position supports advising and student access through educational partnerships, outreach and engagement activities, and assigned departmental initiatives. In collaboration with students, faculty, staff, educational partners, and community organizations, the position helps strengthen educational pathways, connect students with appropriate resources, and support student wellness through education, referral, and resource coordination.    As part of these responsibilities, the position may be assigned duties specific to advising and access programs or initiatives and may support designated educational or community partners. Specific program, partnership, and outreach assignments may change as the needs of the Academic Advising & Access department evolve.    Ability to travel to assigned locations and work occasional evenings and weekends are required for this position.

NSHE Specialist 1 - Admissions and Records

Western Nevada College is recruiting for a NSHE Specialist 1. The purpose of this position is to serve as the Module Lead for the Academic Advisement (AA) portion of the PeopleSoft Student Services Module located on the Western Nevada College campus, to serve as the college Transfer Credit Evaluator, and posting degrees. As the Module Lead for AA, this position will represent WNC in the shared instance throughout NSHE, maintain and update audit reports, and trouble-shoot technical problems with PS software. As the Transfer Credit Evaluator, this position will evaluate transcripts and post transfer credit to student's WNC transcript. This position also determines if requirements are met and posts degrees and certificates of achievements for each graduate who fulfills all requirements. All aspects of this position require a great deal of responsibility, initiative, technological expertise, problem-solving, the ability to communicate effectively with two separate departments, and to network effectively with staff supporting other AA modules within the shared instance.

Maintenance Repair Specialist 1

Western Nevada College is recruiting for a Maintenance Repair Specialist 1. The ideal candidate is responsible for interpreting blueprints, schematics and local building codes to perform maintenance and repair projects. This position will repair, construct, and maintain buildings, grounds and equipment, plan, layout and initiate cost estimates for projects; coordinate with outside vendors to bid parts and receive cost estimates. Other duties include maintenance and repair for plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC. This position also provides maintenance and testing of all backflow devices, maintaining plumbing fixtures and water heaters, repairing existing fixtures, toilets, urinals, sinks, and drinking fountains and the opening of clogged drains. This position must follow the International Building Code (IBC) and Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC) as well as state and local code requirements. This position will also be responsible for maintaining the roofing of buildings, performing carpentry, and electrical installations, and other duties as assigned.

HVACR Specialist 1 - Facilities  

Western Nevada College is recruiting for a Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVACR) Specialist 1.This individual would perform journey‐level skilled work in the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment, including water treatment. When required, this position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the utility plant during the incumbent’s shift. The operation consists of monitoring high temperature water, boilers and related equipment. The position is based out of the Carson City campus but travel to the other campuses is required.
