Jumpstart Peer Mentor/Teacher's Assistant

Description: Assist high school juniors & seniors participating in the Jump Start College program to successfully complete their WNC courses. The Teaching Assistant will sit in during classes and lectures and facilitate supplemental instruction.

  • Qualifications: Must enjoy working with high school students. Must have completed Math 126, Math 127, ENG 101 and ENG 102 with "B's" or better grades. Work study preferred.
  • Job Type: Part Time
  • Hours Per Week: 20
  • Wage: $12.00/hr

  • Apply: Work study is not required for this position but is preferred. Contact the supervisor for this position to schedule an interview. You also need to fill out a Student Employment Application and Hiring Packet which is available in the Financial Assistance Office. Once your packet is completed, you need to bring it back with two forms of ID (examples of appropriate ID are included in the hiring packet) and meet with the Scholarship & Student Employment Coordinator. If a department wishes to hire you they will notify the Scholarship & Student Employment Coordinator via email and a contract will be prepared for you to begin working.
